
Suzanna (she/her) is a Master's-level clinical counsellor that has completed the clinical training for her Master of Counselling degree through City University and is pending RCC registration. She provides individual, couples, and family therapy, supporting clients through a diverse range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
Suzanna’s therapeutic style is gentle, thoughtful, and collaborative. She uses a person-centered approach, emphasizing the value of connection and fostering a safe, compassionate space to support healing and growth. Her integrative theoretical approach is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. This approach allows her to adapt her work to each client’s needs, offering both structure and flexibility as clients explore their experiences.
Suzanna was drawn to the counselling field through a deep appreciation for how one’s relationship with themselves shapes their experiences, and the strength that can emerge in times of challenge and change. Outside of her counselling work, Suzanna prioritizes connection and rest; she loves spending quality time with loved ones, being in nature, and reading.Suzanna is accepting new clients for both in-person and online sessions, and welcomes individuals, couples, and families seeking support. Suzanna’s therapeutic approach is integrative, primarily grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. She adapts these modalities to best fit each client, working to find the approaches that feel most supportive and relevant to their needs.
In her work with couples, Suzanna's approach is informed by the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. This approach offers tools and frameworks to support communication, connection, and conflict resolution in relationships. Suzanna supports couples in exploring both their strengths and areas for growth in their relationships, while creating space for both partners to share and feel heard.
In her work with families, Suzanna draws from systemic, developmental, and attachment-informed perspectives. She helps families explore patterns of interaction, improve communication, and strengthen emotional attunement between family members. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, supporting each family member to feel heard and valued while navigating challenges.
Across all approaches, Suzanna works in a way that is collaborative and responsive, supporting clients to deepen their self-understanding and cultivate greater ease and resilience in daily life.
Suzanna completed her clinical practicum at Safe Space, where she worked with clients with a range of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, neurodiversity, identity exploration, and grief and loss. She values working with people across diverse backgrounds and experiences, and is committed to practicing with cultural humility and openness. Clients have shared that Suzanna’s presence helped them feel heard and understood, and that her gentle approach allowed them to explore at their own pace.
In addition to her clinical training, Suzanna brings extensive experience working with children and families. She has worked one-on-one with children with neurodiversity, including autism and other developmental differences, through play-based, developmental therapy. This work focused on supporting children in areas such as communication, social interaction, play skills, and emotional regulation. She also worked closely with parents and caregivers to support consistency across settings and participated in parent support initiatives that emphasized connection, attunement, and practical strategies to help families navigate behavioural and emotional challenges.
Suzanna is currently completing training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy to further strengthen her relationship-focused work.
