How I Can Help You
If you’re navigating low mood or anxiety, carrying grief, or exploring attachment wounds, I may be a good fit. I often meet adults who want to feel less alone, more grounded, and more connected—to themselves and to others. I also work with couples who care about their relationship and may want support with communication, repair, and the impact of earlier experiences. I hold a culturally sensitive lens, have experience supporting people from different cultures and migratory histories, and offer sessions in Farsi and English.
My style is warm, collaborative, and steady. We’ll go at a pace that feels manageable. I tend to slow things down so we can notice emotions in the moment and respond with care. I work from an attachment‑based and trauma‑informed lens, drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also pay attention to how culture, power, and systems shape our experiences. My hope is that therapy feels like a respectful, non‑judgmental space where your voice and values lead the work.
Issues I Can Help With
I am a practicum student counsellor completing my Master of Counselling at City University. My background includes work in crisis and women’s health settings and with refugees navigating displacement and cultural transition. I have experience supporting people from diverse cultural backgrounds and migratory histories.
In terms of my experience, I have volunteered in crisis and women’s health settings, supporting individuals through emotional challenges, safety concerns, and systemic barriers. These experiences strengthened my commitment to advocacy, equity, and compassionate care.
I have also worked with refugees in Germany, supporting individuals and families coping with displacement, trauma, cultural transitions, and identity-related challenges. This experience deepened my understanding of resilience and the complexities of navigating new cultural environments.
In addition, my upbringing in Iran has given me personal insight into the impacts of restrictive norms, cultural expectations, and systemic inequalities. These lived experiences enrich my work with immigrants, refugees, and individuals navigating cross-cultural identities or family transitions.
I continue to expand my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, trauma-informed practice, and relational approaches, with a strong interest in integrating feminist and social-justice-oriented perspectives into my counselling work.
