About

Beatriz (she/her) is completing her clinical practicum for the Master of Counselling Psychology (MCP) at Safe Space. She provides empathic, compassionate, and empowering counselling, grounded in the Adlerian framework. She honours clients as experts in their own lives and creates a warm, culturally attuned space for growth and meaningful change.

Approach

My counselling approach is based on Adlerian therapy, a framework that explores how earlier experiences and old beliefs influence our present perspective, views and actions. I also bring a meaning-centred framework, that explores the search for significance and purpose in our daily life. I favour a culturally responsive, non-judgmental and empathic style of client engagement.

Professional Experience

I am currently pursuing a MCP degree at Adler University, part of which is a practicum at Safe Space under the supervision of Shalene Takara, MA, RCC-ACS. I bring three years of experience working with women from diverse backgrounds who have endured violence, as well as work with immigrant and minority communities. My perspective is guided strongly by equity, diversity, and inclusion. I strive to offer a safe, confidential, and caring environment for all clients.
